Promoting an event is hard. Why not leverage other members’ social media networks to significantly expand your reach? Once submitted, your event will appear in the newsletter so everyone can spread the word.
Focus Groups
Purpose
Do you have an idea or project you care about? The purpose of Focus Groups is to discuss their feasibility with other members.
Whether from a single person or an organization seeking feedback, big or small, down-to-earth or a simple wish, the only requirement is that this idea or project be heartfelt. The submission form is divided into practical sections, making it easy for anyone to understand your purpose once it is published as a post.
Path Forward
- Step 1: Other members help better define your goal in the discussion thread and share ideas about its implementation.
- Step 2: To get into specifics with others who are interested, you can create a group on the website’s social network.
- Step 3: Ultimately, the most concerned members may even commit to working with you in the “real world,” outside this website.
Reminders
- Comments will continue to be added to the discussion thread. Don’t ignore them if you are at the origin of the focus group in question.
- Visitors, not just members, can see the full post and its discussion thread, leading to extensive sharing via social media icons.
- Your feedback on others’ heartfelt projects or ideas is important too. Share it simply and sincerely wherever you relate.

Guest Posting
There is no better way for other members to start a conversation with you than to know what you stand for, why, and how.
To facilitate the process, guest posts can be either pieces published elsewhere or original creations for One Home Planet. You can also update your published posts. If you wish to delete one of them, please request it using the Contact form.
Visibility
- Guest posts are systematically promoted in the newsletter.
- Visitors, not just members, can see the full post and feel motivated to use social media icons to share widely.
- Your social profile is featured in a neat author bio box (see below) where visitors can:
- See your website’s address.
- Send an email to your regular inbox.
- Know what your most recent guest posts are.
Good Practices
- You must be the original author of the post.
- Break your text into sections with subheadings as needed.
- You are welcome to speak about your achievements; simply avoid being overly promotional.
- Always link to the source of any quotes, studies, or data you include (a link to one of this website’s posts will be greatly appreciated!).
Author Bio Box
The author bio box is indispensable to your credibility as an author and appears at the end of each guest post. It is thus advised to be both informative and concise.
To create it, go to your personal social profile, click the gear icon, and select Edit Profile. The field you see right below your name is also for your author bio. Click on the checkmark logo to save when you’re done.
Office Meetings
Office Meetings are a weekly opportunity to share suggestions, comments, and questions about how the platform can better serve its members. They take place each weekend through a discussion thread.
Social Network
In time, you will encounter people you want to keep in touch with. This is actually the website’s whole purpose. 🙂 You can post and comment on others’ walls, privately message them, and create groups with all members who share your interests.
Notes:
- You need to log in as a Community, First Circle, or Free Trial member to see the Social Network tab appear under Community in the main menu.
- You will be notified by email if an event related to you occurs when you are not present on the website. If you haven’t already, please add to your inbox contact list contact@onehomeplanet.com.
Finding members
Most of the time, you will come across new people in discussion threads that all members can access. Click their name; if they are Community or First Circle members, you will be directed to their social profile on the website.
You can also use the directory in your profile and search by 1) first name, 2) username, or 3) interest fields. Copy/paste one of the latter for an effective result:
