Community + First Circle
Social Network
In time, you will encounter people you want to keep in touch with. This is actually the website’s whole purpose. 🙂 You can post and comment on others’ walls, privately message them, and create groups with all members who share your interests.
Note: You will be notified by email if an event related to you occurs when you are not present on the website. If you haven’t already, please add to your inbox contact list contact@onehomeplanet.com.
How to find members?
Most of the time, you will come across new people in discussion threads that all members can access. Click their name to view their profile and decide whether to follow or message them.
You can also use the directory in your profile and search by 1) first name, 2) username, or 3) interest fields. Copy/paste one of the latter for an effective result:
Human Rights
Democracy
War and Peace
Immigration
Climate Change
Biodiversity
Natives’ Wisdom
Localism
Regenerative Economics
Financial Engineering
Capitalism
Impact Investing

Guest Posting
There is no better way for other members to start a conversation with you than to know what you stand for, why, and how.
To facilitate the process, guest posts can be either pieces published elsewhere or original creations for One Home Planet. You can as well update your published posts. If you wish to delete one of them, please request it using the Contact form.
Visibility
- Guest posts are systematically promoted in the newsletter.
- Visitors, not just members, can see the full post and feel motivated to use social media icons to share widely.
- Your social profile is featured in a neat author bio box (see below) where visitors can:
- See your website’s address.
- Send an email to your regular inbox.
- Know what your most recent guest posts are.
Good Practices
- You must be the original author of the post.
- Break your text into sections with subheadings as needed.
- Always link to the source of any quotes, studies, or data you include (a link to one of this website’s posts will be greatly appreciated!).
Author Bio Box
The author bio box is indispensable to your credibility as an author and appears at the end of each guest post. It is thus advised to be both informative and concise.
To create it, go to your personal social profile, click the gear icon, and select Edit Profile. The field you see right below your name is also for your author bio. Click on the checkmark logo to save when you’re done.
Focus Groups
The purpose of Focus Groups is to discuss the feasibility of one’s idea or project with other members. Whether big or small, down-to-earth or a simple wish, the only requirement for your idea or project is that it be heartfelt. It can come from a single person or an organization seeking feedback on an action they are taking.
The form for submitting your post is divided into different practical angles. Everyone can, this way, understand what you are talking about, and anyone can share their views without being an expert. At first, other members will help better define your goal, then agree on how to achieve it, and, ultimately, the most concerned among them may commit to it far beyond the boundaries of this website.
On the website itself, creating a focus group post has three main advantages:
- First and foremost, your focus groups will likely foster a more efficient and fruitful community life on the Social Network.
- Contrary to the fleeting attention spans on social media, your interlocutors are community members who share a common purpose and are willing to help.
- Visitors, not just members, can see the full post, leading to extensive sharing via social media icons.
Office Meetings
Office Meetings are an opportunity to share suggestions, comments, and questions about how the platform can better serve its members.
The discussion thread is open from 12 pm on Saturday to 12 pm the following day, Paris time (CET). This 24-hour time span allows you to communicate with interlocutors worldwide, regardless of your location. The discussion thread remains visible for an additional 24 hours after being closed.
To facilitate a fruitful live discussion, please take a moment to prepare your questions by using the form below. Once submitted, your questions are sent to you for reference and systematically answered in the discussion thread.
First Circle
Be Our Guest
Do you have expertise, either intellectual or practical, in the social, environmental, economic, or political field? Are you willing to teach about a topic you genuinely care about? We are more than welcome to be our guest!
- You will be interviewed during a one-hour live call with a small group of 10-12 people (40 minutes will be dedicated to your interview and 20 to attendee questions).
- The purpose is to draw the main lessons from a topic of collective interest; no commercial or purely personal topics will be retained.
- The live call is normally a single opportunity, but a series of sessions can be organized if you and other members are willing and ready.
Events Promotion
Promoting an event is hard. Why not leverage other members’ social media networks to significantly expand your reach? Once submitted, your event will appear in the newsletter so everyone can spread the word.
Group Calls
These are personal meetings with me (Philippe Roussel), held each Saturday at 8.30 AM and 6.30 PM, Paris time (CET). Each time, one of my essays serves as a base for the discussion, which can, then, go as far as we want. Click below to make your topic and time choices.
