About

My name is Philippe Roussel, and it’s my privilege to welcome you to this website.

At a time of democratic decline and overwhelming environmental challenges, our societies need true builders more than ever. One Home Planet can help, in its own modest way, by encouraging citizens to explore the basics of our collective issues and build steady relationships in their fight for the common good.

My professional background has always been in didactics, teaching philosophy to students, and copywriting techniques in the corporate world. I enjoy examining things in depth and am passionate about sharing what I learn.

As a French-American binational, I also know from experience that we are not citizens of a country just by speaking its language, but by recognizing ourselves as part of its political project. This dual citizenship has, for me, revived a valuable lesson regarding two fundamental aspects of political life. One is that beyond the particular framing of national institutions, freedom and justice are matters of principle, not of cultural differences. The other is that environmental, social, and economic justice will always require citizens to be alert and committed.

The key aspect of genuine change for the common good is the education of the citizen, which, first and foremost, involves the practice of critical thinking. One Home Planet provides this opportunity to everyone through the study of pivotal authors. Whether you just want to learn or feel you can offer expert insights, the Book Club is the backbone of your membership.

Aside from this study program, this website is a community space where you can:

  • Take advantage of a complete social network platform to build meaningful connections.
  • Use a series of resources to submit your ideas and better achieve your goals as a concerned citizen.
